We have 1200 hectares of walnut orchards distributed in eight different properties.

Chile is in a privileged location for fruit production thanks to the natural barriers that surround it: the Atacama desert in the north, the Andes Mountains to the east, the Pacific Ocean to the west and the ice-fields in the south.

Chile’s Mediterranean climate features warm, dry summers and cold, rainy winters that walnut trees love.
Because of Chile’s geographic position in the Southern Hemisphere, we are able to supply the freshest walnuts
during the months of highest demand (April to December)

Our Orchards

Located in the heart of Chile’s premier fruit-growing district, our orchards are distributed in 9 different properties, spanning an area of 1200 hectares.

Our orchards are managed following IPM (Integrated Pest Management) and Global GAP (Good Agricultural Practices)
guidelines.

Achieving a sustainable use of pesticides

Studies show that pesticide lost due to improper applications may exceed 57%; only 43% of the pesticide arrives at its intended destination; and the rest is lost. According to estimations, out of these losses 38% is lost by drift and 19% remains on the ground.

Integrated pest management

Where the Tolerance Threshold can be measured by pest population density (amount of specimens per leaf). Whether the application will be able to protect at least a portion of the fruit equivalent to the cost of the IPM should be assessed. Following is an example of an evaluation of potential damages to the crop caused

Ethephon application

Ethephon is a plant growth regulator that acts by releasing ethylene in the plant issues soon after its application. Ethylene, a naturally occurring plant hormone, induces and regulates certain plant processes, such as ripening, coloring and senescence. Ethephon is used in walnuts for stimulating pericarp opening and detachment, thus obtaining an easier, early and concentrated
